Moving to Dubai can see you missing clubs, groups and hobbies but never fear we have a great big list here of lots of social groups and expat community groups in Dubai for you to join whether they are expat country based or hobby based- there is bound to be a club for you!

Joining a club or a society can seem a bit scary at first but don't forget everyone was new once. To make the most of your expat life in Dubai it is important to keep some familiar things around you- whether it's people from your home country, traditions from your home country or a hobby like singing or dancing or playing in a football or sports league once a week.

All of these things will help you to settle in more and put down some expat roots.

The Old Library

The Old Library is Dubai's leading English Language Lending Library with over 1800 family and individual members. It is a non-profit organisation which is run entirely by volunteers as a service to the Dubai community. The Library is located in the Dubai Community Theatre and Art Centre complex at the Mall of the Emirates on Sheikh Zayed Road in Al Barsha.

The Library has a collection of over 20,000 books with well stocked specialist sections for Children, Teenagers, Adult Fiction, General Reference, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Romance and the Middle East. New books are purchased every month for both the Children's and Adult sections of the Library. The Library also offers a toddler's reading session, and secondhand books for sale.
