There's some exciting things happening on Dubai's coast...

Following the news this week about the recently opened Bluewaters Island, pictures have now been shared of the huge Dubai Harbour development that is currently underway in Dubai Marina.

Besides Barasti and Palm Jumeirah, the 20 million square foot Dubai Harbour project is being developed by Meraas.

The new waterfront development will feature the Middle East's largest marina when complete. Dubai Harbour ill be capable of handling 1,400 vessels AND it will be the home of a 125 metre-high tower, Dubai Lighthouse and a luxury hotel and observation deck.

Now, Dubai Holding and Meraas have signed a joint venture agreement with D-Marin, to make the city the 'global capital' for luxury yacht marinas.

Under these plans, the venture will manage and operate existing and future marinas developed by Meraas and Dubai Holding - including Port de la Mer, the recent re-furbished Jumeirah Beach Hotel and the huge Dubai Harbour project.

The aim is to make Dubai a regional centre with global standards for luxury yachts and boating.

Once Dubai Harbour is complete, Meraas will own and operate the largest marina in the MENA region with 1,100 berths - doubling the current number of berths available in the UAE.

We may not have a luxury yacht - or a boat for that matter - but these visuals shared by Dubai Media Office are definitely exciting, and Dubai Harbour will be a fantastic addition between the Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah areas of the city.
