UAE New Year Holidays Announced for the Private and Public Sector

Can you imagine it is almost the start of a new year again and we have great news! The first holiday for 2018 has been announced!

The public sector in the UAE will start 2018 with a glorious 4-day long weekend with an off on Sunday, December 31st, 2017 and Monday, January 1st, 2018. The private sector will only have one day off on Monday, January 1st, 2018 but we are sure most people will be applying for leave on Sunday, December 31st, 2017.

Official duty will resume again on January 2nd.

This year we won’t be welcoming the New Year with the world renowned fireworks from the Burj Khalifa but rather with a laser show by the sounds of it.

Downtown Dubai posted this video on Instagram earlier this week hinting towards something other than fireworks but no-one has been able to find out what exactly is being planned to ring in the New Year.

Knowing their reputation, we know that we won’t be disappointed!
