UAE ranks 2nd safest country in the world 2021

The UAE has one of the lowest crime rates and Covid fatalities in the world.

The UAE is among the top 10 safest countries to live in 2021, according to new reports from Global Finance.

The nation ranked second place, just after Iceland, out of 134 countries based on their response to Covid-19, as well as war and disaster risks, and personal security.

"The safety score for countries takes into account three fundamental factors. These factors are war and peace, personal security, and natural disaster risk including the unique risk factors stemming from Covid-19," the study explained.

Globally, the UAE currently ranks first in Covid-19 vaccine doses given, with over 15.6 million doses given so far. This means around 74.5% of the population received at least one dose, while 64.3% are fully vaccinated against the virus, according to the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA).

In the new report on the safest countries in the world 2021, Qatar placed third, followed by Singapore, Finland, Mongolia, Norway, Denmark, Canada, and New Zealand.
