While some people believe that natural oil cleansers in Dubai are the way to go for healthy beautiful skin, others are still sceptical. Can an oil actually clean and rejuvenate the face? We’ve tried a number of different natural oils for our faces and we have brought you our favourite picks!
We take a look at different natural oils in Dubai that are recommended for the face and the benefits that come with these natural wonders.
1. Castor Oil
Extracted from the castor plant known as Ricinus Communis, which usually grows in the tropical regions, castor oil helps to detoxify and cleanse the skin.
Castor oil can be drying to the skin as it helps cleanse the skin of dead skin cells and helps to remove unwanted particles from pores, thus decreasing the chances of acne breakouts.
As castor oil is drying to the skin, it is recommended that those with oily or combination skin should add a little extra castor oil to their facial routine to help eliminate unwanted oils on the face.
Castor oil for the skin should be organic, cold pressed, hexane free and not solvent extracted.
2. Jojoba Oil
Jojoba oil is the closest thing to natural sebam. Sebam is naturally produced by your body to moisturise your skin and is used as a natural remedy. It is best used for the face and skin as it acts as a skin conditioner due to its sebum-like resemblance.
Jojoba oil is a liquid wax that is extracted from the seeds of the jojoba plant and is widely used as an ingredient in shampoos, conditioners and lotions.
3. Grape Seed Oil
Extracted from grape seeds, grape seed oil has anti-inflammatory properties that are known to treat acne and reduce scars while restoring collagen, tightening the skin and fight against ageing.
The benefits of the grapeseed oil are largely due to its non-comedogenic elements, which are formulated to not clog pores.
4. Sweet Almond Oil
An excellent lubricant for the face, sweet almond oil is recommended for those who have dry and sensitive skin.
The oil is light in texture and is easily absorbed, makes it easy to apply to the face. Sweet almond oil is rich in vitamins, minerals and protein, thus helping to nourish and revitalize the skin.
5. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Also known as EVOO, Extra Virgin Olive Oil is used for practically everything! From cooking to hair to skin, EVOO is an excellent resource for nourishment and health.
Make sure that the EVOO that you purchase is certified organic in order to take advantage of its beauty benefits. EVOO makes for a great skin moisturizer as its properties help to encourage cell repair to create tightened, smooth and flawless skin!
6. Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is one of our favourite oils ever, simply because it can be used for everything and it smells wonderful! Its anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties make it an ideal oil to use for face cleansing as it kills bacteria, while still managing to keep the skin nourished and hydrated.
Coconut oil has been said to help skin conditions such as acne, eczema and more, while the saturated fat within the oil helps to keep the skin moisturized, smooth, healthy and evenly toned.
7. Avocado Oil
Organic, cold pressed avocado oil is loaded with monounsaturated fatty acids such as oleic acid which are known to help soften and hydrate the skin.
Avocado oil is also known to be an effective tool for the treatment of acne, blackheads, eczema and other sorts of skin conditions in addition to being an excellent anti-aging source that helps to smooth fine lines and wrinkles.
8. Neem Oil
Used as a skin conditioner, neem oil is used for dry skin and is an excellent source for acne-prone skin. Acne is a result of the overproduction of sebum (oil that is produced from the sebaceous gland that can be found beneath the surface of the skin).
Sebum becomes a problem when it is exposed to bacterial proliferation inside the pores and hair follicles which result in pimples, acne and other unwanted blemishes. Neem oil can help remove the bacterial growth from the skin and is considered a natural and safe alternative to anti-bacterial soap.
9. Argan Oil
Containing vitamin E and other essential fatty acids, argan oil is considered to be a superfood for your skin. Argan oil is known for its moisturizing compounds and skin protection from environmental effects.
Additionally, argan oil works as an anti-ageing agent due to its strong anti-oxidant compounds that help to protect the skin's elasticity.
