HR Breakfast: UAE Labour Law 2020

HR professionals are invited to this one-day session covering the important 2020 updates!

Come along as we kickstart our 2020 series of HR Breakfasts, where you could network with colleagues in the profession whilst gaining opportunities for professional development.

Led by Helena Lousada of James Berry & Associates, this morning session will approach the most recent efforts concerning modernisation of labour laws in the UAE.

The UAE Labour Law of 1980 still is the main legislation governing employment relationships in the UAE private sector. However, the UAE economy and workplace is much more sophisticated and diverse than it was when this law was initially implemented.

The various regulations and decrees that have been introduced to supplement that law are consequently very important to enable UAE-based companies to continue to attract, properly manage and keep leading talent from around the world.

Open discussions of the recent 2019 initiatives will also include...

  • New DIFC employment law
  • Gender equality and multiculturalism
  • Part-time working resolution
  • 'Good conduct' certificates
  • Equal opportunities for disabled employees
  • New employee insurance scheme
  • General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

The registration fee is AED 100 and includes a delicious breakfast.
