The hugely anticipated John Lewis Christmas advert 2018 has finally been released.
The wait is finally over! Brits around the world can rejoice, as Christmas has officially begun with the release of the 2018 John Lewis Christmas advert.
The UK high street chain has become synonymous with the festive season over recent years, thanks to its heartwarming commercial campaigns.
For 2018, the campaign is an emotional tribute to British musical icon Sir Elton John, and highlights historical moments in the musicians iconic career over the years.

So successful is the John Lewis advert each year, that Christmas television now revolves around the release of this one campaign; leaving most supermarkets and brands competing with increasingly emotional commercials each year.
In previous years, the retail giant has released heartfelt short films with covers of classic songs that tend to bring tears to your eyes - but for 2018, John Lewis hasn't followed the trend of fictionalised stories and has instead created a two-minute Christmas film that showcases the story of Sir Elton John's career, set to his first ever major hit, "Your Song".

Titled The Boy and the Piano, the ad starts in present day with a shot of him sat at his piano, before going back in time to show his rise to stardom. At the end, we're shown the origin of his talents; a piano gifted to him for Christmas by his family.
It's not the first time that John Lewis has used the iconic song; back in 2010, Ellie Goulding covered "Your Song" in the brand's Christmas advert then.
John Lewis in Dubai
The UK department store doesn't have its own outlet here in Dubai, but fans of the retail giant can find a John Lewis section inside Robinsons Dubai in Dubai Festival City.
For Christmas 2018 in the UK, John Lewis offers shoppers a chance to enjoy the full experience; actual sets used for filming the advert will be placed in the flagship Oxford Street store in the country's capital city, London. They'll even be able to try on the actual costumes from the short film!
So if you are travelling to London to see family this Christmas, you must make sure you visit!
