What's Happening for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Dubai

1 in every 8 women are said to develop cancer, and 1 in every 11 women die from the disease...

Breast Cancer remains the top in cancer cases in the UAE with more than 4,700 diagnosed in 2018, according to the World Health Organisation's (WHO) International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). Worldwide, the global breast cancer count has risen to over 18 million new cases and 9.6 million deaths last year.

Most commonly found in women above the age of 40, we emphasize the importance of regular self-examination for early detection. If breast cancer is diagnosed at an early stage, healthcare professionals claim the survival rate is a positive 98%.

Because raising awareness and support is critical for women during all stages of breast health, we've compiled a guide to what's happening for this year's Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Dubai, from October 1 to 31.

The month-long mission of educating and raising awareness on the importance of early detection will include a wide array of events, activities, and offers from renowned health clinics and hospitals across the city. UAE residents are encouraged to participate in breast cancer screenings, clinical examinations, informative sessions, and charitable events this October.
