Ford Mustang Morning - February 5th
Boys V Girls certainly took on a new meaning on Saturday 5th Feb when ExpatWoman members and their husbands took part in the ExpatWoman Ford Mustang Morning! We met at the Jebel Ali karting track, the girls were in the capable hands of speedy Spencer, a professional racing driver who put us through out paces, giving us handy hints on how to beat those boys! He managed to drive with a walkie talkie in one hand, the other on the steering wheel and still change gear – a great role model! The boys didn’t need quite so much practice, or so they thought! The final results show may be they were a little overconfident. If there was ever a doubt that boys are different to girls this shattered it. The boys raced round the track, burning rubber, screeching wheels, wow what a drive! The cars were fabulous, bright red, sleek silver, and a white Shelby complete with the Mustang blue strip. They responded to every demand made of them, and we all left wanting to drive to a showroom and order one immediately! Results in reverse order, Jane Potter 3rd (Lap time 33.72), Second Lee (33.17) and the winner with a lap time of 32.23 was Jen Stelco who won the use of the bright red Mustang for a weekend!
