Also, does anyone know about outlet shopping in the UK. I went to Bicester Village (25 km away from Oxford) this summer, only because it was between our planned Stratford-Upon-Avon and Oxford route and we had a rental car that week (there is a train that goes from London to the outlet).
Bicester is FABULOUS. I buy all my clothes and shoes (plus all my makeup and skincare when they have it in stock) there. They are also great with Tax Free shopping. You just have to make sure you are there when they open at 10am (then stop for a late lunch at Carluccios or Villandry!)

For books you can't beat the book people. they have amazing discounted books and book sets. I use them all the time - excellent company. www.thebookpeople.co.uk
There are also stores that sell heavily discounted books. I can't remember the names of the stores but I am in the UK later this week and can check them out and let you know their names.
WH Smith in the UK usually have buy 2 books and get 1 free or buy one get another at half price offers - always worth checking out their website to see their offers before ordering from Amazon.
Bicester Village is well worth a visit. there's another big newish one near Southampton - something like gun wharf quays or something like that I know loads of friends say it's fab but I've not yet been......

The Ibn Battuta branch of House of Prose has moved to The Dubai Garden Centre on the SZR! I also read a lot and buy many books from Feline Friends at their monthly Friday book sales at Times Square, they charge about AED 10 per book!
