LMAO at Freckles 1! Now no one will want to be our friend!! :) Of course there isnt anything wrong with making friends with people with kids, its just that it is more difficult as [b'>they tend to make friends with other parents [/b'>who have more things in common. We recently went to a couple of bbqs and the parents there unfortunately would only talk about their kids and schools and so on... Aberdeenshiregirl and baggiebabe, thanks fpr the suggestions, will definately give it a go. not always..we're still new here but we have made some good friends from husband's work including a family who live nearby. We have children and apart from the nearby family none of our friends have children here...

When my hubby and I arrived in Al Ain I went to the coffee morning and met some really nice folk. We arranged to go to a quiz with our respective hubbies who had not met. Luckily the men got on too and now we have a group of about five or six couples who regularly meet up. Only now they have to come to Dubai and meet us. It does take time.
