Where to recycle plastic bags?

Some people consider us quite eccentric because of our recycling habits - we sort and take our recyclables to a recycling box (although have heard some people say that they just end up dumping the stuff in there in the bin anyway) regardless we do it. We have gathered however an unhealthy amount of plastic bags that we refuse to just throw away - they've added up over the months. Anyone know where they can be recycled?
