I know, daft question. But my sister is coming over with her four-year-old, two-and-a-half-year-old and four-month-old and we have DS who'll be eight months, and I need to know if we can put any of the car seats in the last row of seats. And is it illegal to have a child in the front even if they're in a car seat?

Please don't apologise. No rush at all and hope you get them sorted!

Wow, thanks! That would be amazing if you don't mind - she'll have enough stuff to worry about without car seats so that would be a huge help :). I think they'll be arriving mid-March if that's OK?

Actually, I have a first and second stage spare... So they're yours for the duration of their stay if you want.

Hmm...I would probably put the two older ones in the back...but then I'm not sure 2 rear facing ones will fit next to one another in the front row. The little arch thing makes them a bit wider. Leave it with me for a sec, when I get moment I'll go out and have a look and a think for you. By the way, if u need a stage 2 seat. I have one you're welcome to. Saves your sis having to travel with 2 chairs.

Thanks, you've made perfect sense! Should I put the small ones in the last row, or the toddlers? So sorry to hear you're not getting any sleep :(. I know how awful that is. Fingers crossed you start getting some rest soon.

Yes, you'll manage this as long as not isofix seats, as these will only fit in the front row of back seats. The biggest nightmare will be strapping the kiddies in the last row in. And remember that to get to the back row you will have to life the single side of the first row...so you can't put a car chair there...you'll have to have one on the middle and one at one of the sides. Hope I've made some sense, finding it hard to explain after 4 nights of virtually NO sleep at all :-(
