Craft Land in Town centre has a series of courses including sewing. If for kids, you have some place in Knowledge Village (crafts) - see Connector January as I saw the reference there. Did you try Cafe Ceramique? They might be able to help you regarding Pottery. You can also approach the artisans at ARTE Dubai and ask whether they give classes or know of any. Good luck.
