Yes if it is for a charity, ask for the details as they would have to be registered!

Yes, that was it - a photocopied sponsorship form. I'd be interested to know which football team/school it is if it's above board, as I think they could use some suggestions on how to raise funds (or not!).

yes something Vermont - which also seemed a strange name of a local football team. just feel it is dubious so be warned not to give money to these kids without some form of ability to check the cause. they had a photocopied sponsors form with signatures suggesting people were giving AED150++. just didn't feel right and I could be wrong but does not seem right...??

You have to register to solicit funds - so even if the cause was real, the organizers would have been acting illegally. Anyone who goes door to door in the GCC is probably not legit (apologies if you know of any organization that is) - it happens at home too. I have to continuously warn my parents not to give to organizations they don't know and never in cash.

Was it something Vermont? If so I think we've had them at the door a couple of times over the past few years. They have no details of what it is they're fundraising for and want cash up front. Call me a skinflint but that's not the way they should be going about it!
