Has anyone ever had hair extensions? Can you recommend where to go in Dubai? What is your hair like after they come out, does it damage your real hair? Thinking of having them as my birthday gift and am undecided. A friend back home has them and it looks lovely. Thanks in advance. :)

Be careful girls coz I have heard horror stories of how your own hair falls out in clumps leading to permanent baldness post hair extensions. If your hair is decent I would say dont risk your locks, as there is no use looking fabulous for a few months or even years and then being bald!!!!

Hi GirlAnachronism, you might want to sit down for my reply. The cost of the extensions were dhs4800, plus extra for the cut, plus extra for the special brush. It was a huge amount of money. This is my last time to have it done, boo hoo. If you can afford it, do it, it is so much fun x

Wiggywig, mind if I ask how much it was for 200 pieces? I reckon I only need 150 so would be interested to gauge it...

I have hair extensions done at Gold Salon. I am very happy with them. I had 200 extensions put in and the time took was not quite two hours. Quite expensive but I am having so much fun with them. Enjoy! By the way Gold Salon uses Keratin bonds and when I had the first lot of extensions out my hair was in fantastic condition still. New ones were put straight back in x edited by wiggywig on 04/02/2011

I always hear good things about Gold Salon. Don't get extensions placed with rings - I had these once and when they were removed I was inconsolable, as my hair was all completely gone :( Keratin bonds are best, and make sure you have someone experienced put them in. I'm going to get mine done at home in the UK next month - can't wait!
