Hi ALL - my UK passport is expiring on Sept 14, 2014 but have no free pages left annd my daughters has expired on September 2010. We both need to travel. What is the best way to get both our passports renewed and the costs involved. Is there anyway we can get it back within a week as I remember in London it took us a only 1 Day to renew our passports. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As far as I know, you can't have pages added, you have to get a new passport. I ran out of pages a few years ago and asked them about adding pages here in Dubai - they said no, I had to get a new one, even though I had years left until mine expired. I got a jumbo one this time...

I;m surprised that it got to no pages left. Normally having 2 empty pages is the limit before you have to add more or get it renewed. Not sure you can get new pages added here anymore. You will definitely have to send your daughters off as it's expired, no way around that unfortunately.

We aren't from the UK but the US and when DH and I ran out of pages we went to the US Embassy in Abu Dhabi and they added pages right there on the spot. Then they put a little stamp in the passport that said pages had been added. Can you possibly do that and not have to go through the whole renewal process? pages cannot be added in uk passports, you will have to get the jumbo passport 48 pages. also bear in mind that you will loose what ever validity is left on your passport, they will add 9 months maximum to it for you no more.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. edited by andy7 on 06/02/2011 its usually around 10 days to germany, but in the past the embassy when they were issued here could do it in 5 days, if you are sure that your photos etc are right, take them to the embassy to check they will pass i am sure they could turn it around quicker than 10 days baring no hols either side of course. otherwise it would have to be a trip back to uk, if you can organise an apt at a passport office they can issue in 4 hours at a cost.

Hi, I had same problem, but more time. Went to Dubai immigration who would not renew residency visa without blank pages. I downloaded forms from embassy website, sent off via DHL and got it back 8 days later. Much quicker than before through embassy. I did put on form I was travelling soon so could they send back quickly. Good luck Janet

Thx to all 3 pf you for your prompt response. Am trying to find out with your help what is exactly the best course of action to take. Another friend recommended to go and talk directly to the DHL office in MOE. Apparently they check your documents and the photographs as well before sending them. I would have thought that the UK consulate in Dubai would be able to accept and check the documents before despatch but thisnis rather frustrating that we are left to do it on our own via a courier service.

There's no way that you will be able to do this in a week as they now all have to be sent over to Dusseldorf. Use the search button as some people's passports have been delayed because of a problem with the photographs - they are very strict on the photos now. If you search on here there has been alot of recent info on this new procedure. It sounds like you should renew yours to have the maximum number of pages - you pay extra I think but it's worth it as it saves having to renew so often.
