Where is the best place to go for a posh birthday breakfast? Was thinking a hotel buffet with pork - preferably one that serves until 11:30am but I know that may be unlikely! Looking for a great way to start off my husband's birthday. I have heard the Montgomerie mentioned before but we went there for a brunch once and weren't that impressed with the food, however if breakfast is really supposed to be amazing we might give it another try.

Thanks :)

No they don't deserve that sadly - which is strange because the One and Only next to the Westin does do pork bacon. They do turkey bacon tho... It goes until 11am. edited by Water baby on 09/02/2011

We have always had lovely food at bab al shams. Not had the breakfast there before but the setting is gorgeous and different to have your breakfast in the desert on your birthday. I have however had breakfast at the burj al arab and was very disappointed. Hopefully jensui do it better. I agree though that it would be pretty amszing to go there for a pecial birthday treat. edited by Clairehdp on 09/02/2011

My place - ha ha! What would you like? Scrambled eggs and smoked salmon? A full English breakfast with kidneys, pork bacon and sausages? Omelettes? Miso soup? Kedgeree? An Aussie steak breakfast with damper? Eggs Benedict? Bucks fizz? Seriously though - why not do it at home? And start the day with a glass of Bucks Fizz in bed. Perhaps after a couple or two he'll have forgotten all about breakfast :)

the junsui restaurant at Burj al Arab has a really good breakfast buffet. They also serve asian food in the morning at it's delicious. I have gone there a couple of times just to have the dumplings and the soups.

I do not like Bab Al Shams food at all. Really not nice.

I wouldnt say the brekkie at the Montgomerie is special - it's nice but not amazing and I wouldn't call it 'posh'. I would think breakfast at Bab Al Shams would be pretty amazing and a great start to a special birthday (not had brekkie there though!). How about breakfast at the new One and Only Hotel on the Palm - it looks amazing or the new Jumeirah hotel on the Palm.....
