Travel Insurance Question.

My mother's here on a visit visa for 3 months and we booked her tickets and visa. And that came with the usual travel insurance. Does that insurance cover her medical during the stay here as well or does it cover her/items during the time of the journey?
Also, if that doesn't cover her during her stay here, is there anyway we could apply for her insurance now? Or can my father who's in India apply for that and send it across?
