Has anyone had their guest go for a blood test, my mum is over and she needs to have her warfrin levels tested in her blood to calculate what dose she needs to take. just wondered if anyone else has done this and where they went and how much it cost, thx:)

I think my Mum had the same thing done when she was here a couple of months ago. You don't say where you live, but I'm guessing it's not Fujairah so no point telling you where she went :). But she just went to the clinic round the corner and said it was dead simple and also very cheap. I reckon you could go to your regular clinic, as long as it has a lab.

I always go to CPS clinical pathology services in Barsha near the Al Khail roundabout. They tend to be reasonably priced and often cheaper than hospitals or clinics as you are going direct to the lab.

I had a guest who was also on wafarin and had to do the inr test. We had it done at the Emirates hospital on beach road. No appointment necessary for this. Don't remember the cost but pretty sure it was under 200dh. They will give you the reading and it is very quick, less than an hour, but they will not able to advise on any dosage adjustment without an appointment with a cardiologist, but your guest should know what their regular reading should be and if everything is normal just continue with their normal dosages.

My FIL had blood tests done when he came through, he was ill on his way back home from Europe. We went to the Rosary in Springs and they did it, can't remember how much was a couple of years ago.
