Do you bother answering to the stupid offers you get ?
Just wondering as some people are so daring... Most of them want the stuff for free !

Some people are cheeky, because they buy stuff on there, then sell it on again. I hate it when you've agreed a price and they come to collect and then start the haggling. I just tell them to pay the agreed price or they can go on their merry way.

Normally I don't and I keep prices with not that they are not negotiable. Sold few toys and so far it worked. Would also love to do some "spring cleaning" on DH useless stuff that stored for in the house for ages, but he keeps a watchful eye on that :D edited by dramaqn on 13/03/2011 edited by dramaqn on 13/03/2011

I've sold a few pieces of furniture recently - I listed them at a price allowing for about 10-20% discount because no-one ever wants to pay full price. I did have quite a few people who called up and tried to negotiate price without even coming to see it - I just told them that I was not prepared to discuss the price until they had come to see it so that they could see the quality etc etc - it just really annoyed me that people were trying to negotiate before they had even seen the item!

I have sold a lot of items. I clearly state in my ad 'not negotiable' regarding price. Problem is people never come pick up the items when they say they will...

I've recently sold loads of things on dubizzle b/c we're leaving. Have sold about 90% of stuff already and its not been too bad :-) 1. Don't respond at all to ridiculous offers 2. Don't put your phone number (serious people WILL email you). I don't bargain. I set my price low and stick to it and am very upfront about it. I also make this clear again BEFORE people come.

no. lets be honest, you can gauge from the responses who are 'serious' or at least trying to be, and those are the people that i call. and then, from your first chat you'll know whehther it's worth pursuing or not.
