A couple of days back I had posted about this wound on my DD's neck and how her pediatrician thot it was a fungal and bacterial infection and prescribed canestan and fucidin to apply. That was last thursday.
Anyways, since then, the wound has still not healed, she has lost her voice and since past 2 days she cried everytime she poops, pees or farts. Its been terrible.
Today I went to the pediatrician who my brother went to when he was a kid (20yrs back) and the minute he saw the wound he said that its entirely bacterial and all the other issues are caused by this wound. The bacteria was in the blood stream and thus infecting as it moved around.
Eiterways, he prescribed an antibiotic (suprax) and an ointment (fucibact), and needless to say, 8hrs later, my DD is in less pain. She has peed, pooed and farted without crying and I never thot I would be so happy about such a thing! Of course, she needs to continue the course for next 5 days.
The good doctor is Dr. MM Sayed of the Al Rafa Clinic, Aster Group, based in Bur Dubai, opposite the Ascot Hotel. So if anyone in burdubai area is looking for a pediatrician, I highly recommend him. He is experienced and it shows!

I always use a blow dryer to dry DD off after a bath or shower. I have one where you can adjust the temperature so it doesn't get too hot. She loves it and that way it's much easier to dry up all those folds and creases. Just thought I'd add this piece of advise to prevent this from happening again.

Shaf, Who was the 1st Pediac? just for a pre-caution I am not telling, because I know her personally and I think she is really good, and one of the best doctors i have met in Dubai personality wise also.
