Not that I am planning on moving back at all. But with all the problems in Bahrain it does make me think about the 'get-out'plan. Obviously if things were dire we would have to look at alternatives as flights for animals would be low on the priority list of the country, but if we did have time, how many could I take back? I have 4 dogs and 5 cats (all strays/abandoned bar 1). I am sure I read somewhere it was 4 animals, but would that be for one person ie hubby, and then maybe another 4 for me?

Thanks. So if that is 5 per person then I can take 10. Oh, dare not think of the cost :-(. No, I am not up-to-date with all vacs etc and it is one of those things I keep saying I must do but dont get round to doing, so this is a big kick up the backside for me to start getting all these little lives in order for the just in case scenario. Good idea to talk to pet relocation now and not later, as this is one part I had not got on the agenda. Moneys set aside and they will all stay with me at the other end.............. now just need to save for a bigger house, and absolutely no more looking in any more bins, reading sob stories, fostering and cannot give them back, etc, etc so that I keep my number down to just 9 pets to take back. Middle East unrest aside, we are here for the long-haul due to DH business, hence I have been a bit slobby over getting all the required jabs for export. However, just goes to show, that we should never be too complacent.

Fantastic that you're planning ahead! Vacc's, rabies titre tests and pet passports up to date? All animals' paperwork together and ready to go? Money set aside for costs? Have you talked to a pet relocation agent and got everything straight in your mind so you know exactly what to do and how long it will all take? Somewhere for them all to go at the other end of the journey?

Dubai, but it is the trouble in Bahrain that has got me thinking of what I can/could do if the need arose. As we all said on here when this and the Oman trouble started HAVE A PLAN You may not need it but have one just in case, I m sure the guys in Bahrain ( party central ) did not think it would happen there either ..............
