ashc, do you eat breakfast? Children copy our behaviour and if you are the kind not to have breakfast it is possible that your preferences will be transmitted to your child. I noticed with my DDs friends how much better they eat when in company. My DD eats porridge with pieces of apple and weetabix with bananas regularly and pretty much any type of breakfast food when served.
oh and also do kep in mind that sometimes they just dont want to eat.
My DS goes thru phases where he just wont eat anything but fruit and thn days when he gobbles everything.
Right now he is on a fruit phase.
Meals_ She is 15 months old. Does not like plain cereal as well :(
Shaf- thats what I've been thinking. She usually wakes up at 6.00 for a bottle and up for the day at 7.00-8.00. Breakfast at 8.30, play, lunch at 11.30, nap, milk at 2.00, ( playdate or out and about by 3.00) fruit snack at 4.00, dinner at 6.00 and bath by 7.15 and off to bed by 7.45.
Any schedule change suggestions are welcome as well.
My DS is 22 months, and his schedule is like this usually:
wake: 7:30 have milk and nuts,
10:00 breakfast
12:00 snack fruit only
1:00 lunch
2:00 - 3:30 nap Altho i am thinking of removing this as he doesnt seem to want to nap
4:00 milk (this is the only time he is allowed a junkie snack, ie marshmallows, cake, etc)
5:30 snack
6:30 dinner
7:30 bed (if he has napped, then 8:00 to bed)
Hope it helps!
I find that when I give him fruit about an hour before a meal he gets quite hungry by meal time..

Perhaps the timing is a problem?
My DS wakes about 7:30 - 8:00, and I just give him milk and some nuts (cashew, almonds usually).
Then he plays in garden for an hour and then bath at 9:30 by when he is quite hungry. So breakfast at 10:00 for him.
What about just plain cereal? How old is your DD? My DS's eat weetabix, cheerios or cornflakes for breakfast.
Also, with the toast - try cutting it up into shapes? I use our playdoh or cookie shape cutters to make shapes!
Somebody please help me before DD drives me mental. She is a decent eater except breakfast!!
I have tried eggs, french toast, plain toast with honey, oatmeal, dosas, veggie idlis, yogurt ( she has this with fruit sometimes)!! She will pick at her food but won't eat a full breakfast which I think is important!
Any other suggestions?
