Hi to any of the ladies that cook for a gluten free partner or child- I salute you!
Just entering gluten free land, and was wondering if you ladies can tell me where to get gluten free flour and other gluten free products?
Anyone willing to share good scones/cake/baked goodies recipes that are GF it would be much appreciated!

Hi Evenstar, I am also new to the whole gluten free thing, 10 days in only. See my desperate thread from a few days back, I got so much help from the lovely ladies here on EW http://expatwoman.com/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=143371 . Also if you are a huge Facebook user there are a few gluten free pages there, Gluten free - U.A.E and gluten free and celiac disease in Dubai (thats a group so wont show posts on your home page but a few people post in it) Loads of non local pages obviously and so many blogs. Do a search for "Gluten Free Girl" , she does a blog and recepies and recepie books :) Good luck!

Victoria sponge recipe works just as well with brown rice flour (plus GF baking powder) as with SR flour. You can use it to make cupcakes etc too. Fab.

I've noticed that many of the supermarkets are carrying a fairly good selection of gluten free items. I just bought scone mix (orange and raisin) at Lulu's. Also bought the blueberry/orange muffin mix, but TBH, nothing like real blueberries!!!!

The organic cafe in Dubai mall is the best place to get gluten free flours and other products. There are quite a few threads on gluten free on EW. They have a reasonable range of gluten free products at the Organic Store & Cafe, Dubai Mall. I am not gluten intolerant but my favourite recipe websites have gluten free sections: http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/advanced-search.php?keywords=&tag%5B%5D=6&type=i I picked gluten free from the advanced search and it came up with 851 recipes. You could break it down by ticking gluten free and baking or gluten free and puddings for example. I also like: http://www.healthyfoodguide.com.au/recipes Choose gluten free from the drop down box on the side and there are 64 recipes.
