Thick endometrial lining...
I have been suffering from heavy periods since the last 2 years especially after my second c- section .A case of PCOS, the doctor has been linking the heavy bleeding to my being a suffer of this problem.Last month a routine scan due to flank pain discovered a endometrial lining to be thick at around 16.9 mm.That was day 18.Subsequently I bled heavily and passed a few clots. The tech mentioned that my thick lining was causing me heavy periods.
This month I went for a another lining check and it was 10mm at day 12.I am just a litle concerned that for women in child bearing age , what should the optimum endometrial lining thickness and should I be concerned. The doc has ordered a repeat scan again on day 18 to check the lining thickness and see how thick is it presumably after ovulation. She said if it is very thick she will order a biopsy.I am just a little freaked out...
My previous scans last year did not show very thick endometrial lining , always in the range of 9-12 mm.Only this time it came to around 16.9mm.
Just need some advice...how concerned should I be?Can the tech make a mistake measuring the lining?I believe anything above 15 mm is not good....
