Hi

Can anyone give me information on this playgroup, does it still run? Is it easy to get to in a taxi from Dubai marina?
What age is it for? What does it cost?

Many thanks for any information. Xxxx

Thanks ladies, Just looking for something to keep my one year old entertained especially in the next few hot months!!! I might head along next Sunday or Monday. Do I need to call ahead and book a place? Or just turn up and pay at door? Is it a good place to meet more mummies and make friends? Xxx Just turn up and pay at the door. I have found the Mums and Toddlers group at Fun City, IBN Battuta on Sundays a better place to meet and talk with Mums as it is quieter, smaller and we all sit down at the same time for a coffee. That is just MHO. I have met Mums through the JA group too. It costs a bit more at 35 dhs.

Hi Ruthiebaby, the playgroup runs sunday monday and tuesday mornings ... not totally sure about what time it starts as I am always late but think from about 9am/9.30am and it runs until about 11.30. All ages up to maybe 4 I've seen there. There are different rooms with various different toys for the kids to play with and there is a room for painting/drawing ... one for reading/puzzles ... Its 15 dhs for one child and 20 dhs for 2 or more. After a couple of hours of free play everyone sits around in a circle with the kids and sing nursery rhymes. Yes getting a taxi from the marina won't be a problem although getting a taxi back might be an issue as its off the beaten track so unless you book a taxi to come back you may be stuck, unless you find another mum that is driving back to your area. Take the discovery gardens/jebel ali village exit ... and at the roundabout with Ibn Battuta on your left ... go right, left at next roundabout, at what seems like the end of the road ... past Jebel ali primary school and jebel ali hospital ... go right and keep going until you see the cluster of churches in front of you. You will notice all the cars parked in front of the church you are looking for ... i think its the evangelical church but can't be sure. Its a nice way to spend a morning for you and your LO. Curly I think that we were posting at the same time, so sorry for the repetition!

Hi I attend on Tuesdays with my 3 yo DD (she is one of the oldest). It runs from 9.30am - 11.30am on Sundays and Tuesdays. It costs 15 dhs for one child and 20 dhs for two (making it the cheapest playgroup that I know). Mums can have a cup of tea and the LOs have morning tea. I have to volunteer once a term to bring either fruit or a savoury snack for the children. There are children of all age groups there, up to about 3 (going on 4), but the majority would be 1-2 yo IMO. My DD loves going there. She loves the sing along at the end. My friend comes from the Palm and orders a taxi home. It would be a short ride to the Marina. I wouldn't want to be waiting outside for a taxi in summer time! Be warned it is very busy, but worth it to see the smile on the kids faces!
