hi ladies did a test this evening and its POSITIVE :)

i want to go and see a doctor as soon as possible, as i have had a little spotting tonight- i think i am about 5-6 weeks.

any recommendations on where to go ideally tomorrow or saturday? and any experience on bleeding during pregnancy.

thanks ladies :) i have an appointment with Dr Shiva at medcare tomorrow- i will see how i get on with her and decide from there. i have seen dr yamini at welcare a few times but she isnt free all this week and i want to see someone as soon as. this is my first so im a little lost to say the least- i have taken about 4 tests just to make sure :) x

Congrats! What a great, exciting and scary feeling hey?! For me personally, I wanted my first appointment to be with the same OB/GYN that I was going to see all the way through. That's a matter of personal preference as some will go to a regular GP and then the OB/GYN only at necessary check points. Most Doctors want to see you around 7-8 weeks so you have some time to decide. I went at 8 weeks and we were able to see a little blob and hear the heartbeat which was really special. I'm seeing Dr. Helena Taylor (she works at a clinic but delivers at City Hospital - another decision you'll need to make is where you want to deliver). As for the spotting, it was normal for me. I had "implantation" bleeding and then light bleeding throughout my first trimester. My Doctor has reassured me that I'm having a low risk, text book pregnancy thus far :) Most of the pregnancy books will say that some bleeding is to be expected and you can google most questions and concerns too. My Doctor did make it clear however that no concern was too small and to call her anytime on her mobile if I felt I needed to. Try not to worry too much and enjoy yourself!
