Hello, I am 28 weeks pregnant and want to go for a c-section would someone please tell me about there experience at Welcare Hospital? My Dr is Mahalashmi Sundaran. I totally love her approach and the fact she doesn't rush you while still willing to answer questions. My husband would want me to go to American Hospital though I want to stick with my Dr. TIA

Thanks Abby_n_christine, I am just very comfortable with my doctor so dont want any changes. My insurance does cover American Hospital as well. I have an 8 year old daughter who was delivered by c-section since I failed to dilate. My dr says I could try the VBAC and I am trying to be positive BUT I dont want to go through labour as before then have to be operated on. So it is all a bit iffy right now. But thanks for your comments. And best of luck

Hi Giti... I'm 36 weeks pregnant and consulting Dr. Janaki at Welcare... although I personally haven't had a c-section at Welcare, I have friends who have been down that road at Welcare. They have had a good experience and have positive things to say about the doctors and the nursing care there. At American Hospital I have heard positive reviews about one doctor in particular - Dr. Raj... however, double check your insurance as many providers do not cover 100% costs at American Hospital... I had a miscarriage last year and had to be admitted in Welcare for a D&C... even during such a difficult time the doctors and nurses were very supportive offering me all the timely care and attention required... All the best with your delivery :) Should you decide against a c-section, most of the doctors there are quite supportive of normal births as well and usually only opt for c-section depending on past complications or then emergencies...
