I'm going for embryo transfer (day 3) tomorrow morning... I've taken a week off work and I'm afraid I’ll go nuts from boredom and obsessiveness! It's not my first 2WW but I usually return to work after transfer, this time I decided to take it easy :)
I'm off shopping for some books to read (any recommendations?) and what else?? What did you do during the 2ww how did you spend your time?

TIA supporters :)

TB, Thinking of you today! Just to correct the below - I was actually 11dp3dt when I did my test and not 14 and I got my positive.... so it was long enough for me but I know everyone is different. Have you decided if you are going to test or not? Anyway, sending through huge positive vibes!!!!

Hi TB, Well I decided to do the test on the Sunday night as I was in the office on the Monday morning and I didnt want to get the call in the office in case the result was negative as I was afraid of getting upset in front of my colleagues. I was also as I said 14dp3dt so I knew at that stage that there couldnt be much of a difference in the levels so late after my transfer.... how many days after transfer will you be? Good luck - will be thinking of you!!!!

Hi TB! Sorry I havent been on in a while but hope your transfer went well. I remember reading that there are stages to the 2WW and I found it helpful to be aware of them as I was a classic case LOL! What a cliche! The first 4-6 days you are hopeful, positive etc as the buzz of the transfer is still with you. Then after that, for a few days you will start to wonder and towards the end, you may be convinced it didnt work. Sounds pretty dismal but try to keep your spirits up! Like HB, I was convinced 100% that it hadnt worked. I was due my blood test on the Monday morning and on the Friday / Saturday mornings beforehand I woke up with such bad AF cramps (or so I thought) that I was in tears regularly throughout the day. I was just so disappointed. By the Sunday night, I couldnt wait any more so bought some tests on the way home from work and tested that night (I was 14p3dt anyway) and thought there wasnt going to be a miraculous difference between a hpt and a blood test the following morning at 8am and it was positive!!!!!!!!!!! I couldnt believe it as I was SO sure it hadnt worked! So all that just to tell you to try to keep your spirits high. Even when you think you are getting horrible AF type pains, its not always as it seemd :) HB, just take it easy while you can! Dont be worrying about anything else and enjoy it while you can! I was told for the 1st trimester not to exercise either so I was happy to lie around in between the bouts of MS lol! Hi Dallydoo I think I'm in the stage 2 moving towards stage 3 :) I’m starting to have a feeling that it didn't work , I'm day 8 post transfer (3 day embryos transfer) and I have no symptoms at all!! I have tender Bs and that's about it.( well ...what can I say... if I have symptoms I’m worried ... I don't have symptoms I’m worried!:)) I have the test Monday Morning too ;) can't wait ....the thing is my hubby is travelling Monday morning and I just hate to tell him the news on the phone good or bad so I'm thinking now that a lot of you here cheated and did the home test before the blood test I might just do the same ... what are the odds of having a false reading the night before the blood test...right? Besides I will not have to break my nerves into pieces from 8 am till 12 noon waiting for the blood results Thank you Dally doo for your kind words and I will keep thinking positive :) TBxx

Thanks for the lovely words Tinker and good luck with Dr Wael as I heard he is very good. I feel like such a slob right now. Im on 7.7 weeks and so tired that I just sleep all the time. Nausea comes and goes. I am usually a very productive person so its hard to laze around all day like a giant slug, imagining all the lard creeping onto my thighs too. But mostly bored. I have a lot to do.... online business and drawings, and book to write, but my brain doesnt seem able to do the simplest task right now. EW and Masterchef get me through the fog!!

Good luck Tinkerbell! 2ww is tough, time does not pass quick! I was glued to tv & laptop! Thank you Flower33, it seems that's all we can do in this tough time.I have a stock of movies on my laptop and I bought 6 books (i'm sure they will need 2 month to read not 2 weeks..but just in case:)) so yeah glued to TV and laptop is typical xx Tinker

Hi Hilsbils, Big congrats.. you just drew a big smile on my face :) I go to DFGC with Dr. Wael. Are you talking about "The secret"? I'd like to believe it does help,i'm doing this too and I'm talking to them all the time like "let's have something to eat" (it seems that's all I've been doing since I started IVF) so I thought they should share the cravings as well, in addition to a lot of "let's go to sleep now" lol How did u do this.. in a mall?brave brave... I wouldn't dare :) I can handle a positive test but negative ...I'll hate this mall for the rest of my life! :) Thank you for the kind wishes and I wish you all the best for your next scan let's hope both our waiting time passes quickly :) xx Tinker

Very good luck. I was very depressed towards the end convinced that I was not pregnant. Which IVF doc/clinic are you doing it with? I spent half an hour every morning lying on the bed visualizing the little blastocytes implanting and growing. And sent lots of positive thoughts and energy to them. Not sure if its effective but loved the movie What the bleep do we know, which stated how much our material world is affected by thought. Rest up and enjoy and holding thumbs for you!! Ps ... I was so sure it was a BFN (talk about positive thinking, he? that a few hours before my blood test I did my own clearblue test in the toilets of a mall, and it was positive. edited by hilsbils on 18/09/2012
