Hello Ladies, well this is my first post on this forum, I have been reading some of the previous threads with keen interest over the last month or so and this seems like a great opportunity to make some new friends who are going through the same exciting stage of their lives and I am sure it will be fun being able to share our stories...I am 12w3d with my first baby which is due on 12th August and had my NT scan today at FMC which was amazing! We were told that our baby is a girl (90% accurate apparantly) and that everything is normal & healthy which is such a relief to hear - I think it is human nature to worry and I was feeling rather anxious beforehand. I do work full-time and have a high pressured/stressful job which doesn't help either! We did break the news to our families early on in my pregnancy but managed (with great difficulty) to keep it a secret from most of our friends until this week once the 12w mark was upon us! My Gyne is Dr Anne at City Hospital who seems nice enough and has many years of work experience in the UK. I look forward to hearing from you girls (& bumps!) Take care of yourselves & make sure your hubbies pamper you!

Hi BlondieUK_Dubai, it is good to hear from you! Yes from what I understand Dr Anne is pretty new to Dubai, but she comes with alot of experience. I haven't entirely made up my mind aboout her to be honest as of yet and do not have any previous experience and so nothing to compare her too - although my husband and I did decide to see how next appointment goes (6th April) following the detailed 21 week scan at FMC and then maybe see if we can get a brief appointment with one of the other Drs (Elsa or Britt) to see whether we feel more comfortable. I still feel a little kept in the dark about what to expect. She did tell me to give or take 10 days from my due date, although I do not know how far she would let you go until she decides to induce. I was clear from the beginning in that I wanted a natural delivery if all goes to plan and she was fine with this and did not try to talk me into a c-section, which I know alot of Drs here do! When is your appointment with her? We can compare notes later... :)

Hi GKV... i am also due beginning of August. Was hoping you could give me some more info on Dr Anne. My current doctor has just told me she wont be here for my delivery date so ive made an appointment with Dr Anne but i think she is new so not many reviews on here? I really want a natural delivery if poss - is this something she favours do you know? Also do you know how long over your due date she lets you go - my current doctor said only 2-3 days which seems very short compared with about 2 weeks in the UK? Any info would be much appreciated. Glad to hear everything is going well for you :-)
