My baby who is almost eight months old is having slight diarrhea from the past two days. His twin brother had the same issue last week; we gave soya formula for a few days, the diarrheal went away n it's own.

Now my this baby is passing loose stools 4 or 5 times a day. I think soya formula is not doing anything in his case as the issue persists. I think he is not dehydrated because he's very active as usual and his feeding is the same ( he's not a great feeder to start with ). But what can I do to solve this issue? Can anyone give some suggestions. I think someone said rice and banana can help..is it white rice? Any any particular banana?.. Pls advise.

Tx

Thanks Daza for the reply. He had constipation last week. Which then changed to diarrhea ..strange. He's been like this atleast from the past two days. Maybe we should wait till tomo and then take him to doctor?

It's the BRAT diet, Bananas, Rice, Apple sauce, Toast. After a few days of a tummy upset babies can become lactose intolerant so make sure you aren't giving him any dairy foods (milk, cheese, yoghurt etc) and continue with the soya formula while it lasts. How long has it being going on for? At eight months if it has being happening for a few days I'd take a stool sample to his doctor for testing just in case he's picked up a parasite.
