Hi Ladies.

Already been to the docs and had a little scan which DH was disappointed he missed - I thought it would just be a blood test to confirm my pregnancy ... oops! Anyway, I have made the next appointment to start my ante natal package and this will be when I'm 13 weeks. Is this when I will have the 12 week scan, or does the doc refer you somewhere else/or make another/specific appointment for that scan?

Depends where you are going, the nuchal scan isn't usually done by your obgyn but rather an experienced sonographer in the radiology department. You ideally want to have the combined testing, which requires a blood test which I think should be done around 10 weeks, this gives a much more accurate result so if your dr hasn't arranged for this then I would sort it out yourself before its too late. The blood test and the nuchal scan each individually calculate a risk factor, but the factors combined us what you are after, so make sure that is done ( you'd think that would be obvious but it seems sometimes it doesn't happen!)
