YEah hard core but not by choice! HAHA!! Yes I am going to be joining Doha Mums. I am still living in Abu Dhabi at the moment but we will most likely move in June as we are missing hubby/baba too much. Thanks of the advice. Will book apt with her!

three hours!!! you are hard core ;) I had such an easy labour, I was only at the hospital a few hour before she was born and only a few minutes of pushing and I still complain about it. The fact that you have already had one natural birth will go a long way towards getting them off your back. Dr Maha is great, she had her kids in Germany the "natural" way which is always a good indicater I reckon, as if you ask the OBGYNs a lot of them opt for c-section. Have you joined Doha mums?, its a great source of info on all things mum-related in doha.

Thanks! I am a bit worried as I had a difficult birth with my first but managed in the end to go natural but after 28 hours and THREE HOURS of pushing she came out. Lets hope for the best this time around. Ill make an apt with Dr Maha and check out the hospital as well.

We also did delayed clamping, I had a pretty solid birth plan whch she was happy to sign off.

Dr Maha at al ahli. She is a consultant, trained in Germany. My first baby was a sceduled c-section (another Dr). Dr Maha pretty much pushed me into a VBAC ;), I found her the perfect balance of knowledgable/straightforward, and empathetic caring. She actually came in an oversaw my birth despite not being on duty. I laboured kneeling, which Drs here are a real pain in the backside about (they mostly seem to think you can only deliver on your back). I did not have an epidural or episiotomy, baby came out at midnight and was home by noon the next day. I thought Dr Maha was great, I would however reccomend looking into a doula as well (although they may not allow them at al ahli anymore??) as she was great, but the nursing staff were pretty useless.

Does anyone have a ob/gyn to recommend in Doha that supports birth au naturelle? I do not want to have a c-section and want to go as natural as possible. Any recommendations? Thanks!
