Hi All,

I want to get my 12week scan booked in - was thinking AH - but can anyone share experiences ? Also do I just call and ask for the appointment or is there something else I need to do - so confused by it all first baby in Dubai argghhhhhh :)

I had all my antenatal care and my delivery at AH and was happy with them. The antenatal checkups are nothing special, just routine really and unless there is some issue you'll only see the doctor for maybe 10 minutes each time. Was fine with me though, I didn't really want to be cooed or fussed over. My delivery was great, I wanted to go completely drug-free and nobody ever tried to push anything on me that I didn't ask for. The only thing I disliked were the nurses in the maternity ward, the midwives at L&D were fab and my delivery went really well but the nurses afterwards were just so blah... Came in at all kinds of random hours, never a "congratulations on your baby" or anything, one time they just announced they were going to take my baby away to see the pediatrician without any sort of explanation (eh, **** no! I sent husband with them haha) etc. That is my only negative remark about AH though, overall I was really happy. Regarding the package/appointment etc., yeah you just call and say you want an appointment with an ob/gyn and your 13wk scan, and then when you're at the hospital for your appointment you can say you want to buy the package and pay for it right there.
