Hi
My husband rang his insurance (axa) regarding putting baby on medical insurance same day when she is born, so she is covered for any treatment/ special care etc....however they said they can only do this when baby has birth cert and passport. I am worried as if she does need any neonatal care it won't be Covered with my insurance as my maternity cover is limited to 20,000 dhs which has been used up with prenatal and probably the birth. My friend got her baby covered with bupa same day as they were born? Anyone got any experience/ suggestions about this? Thanks

Hi Kellyjane, they should backdate it, so yes they get insurance after baby has got a birth certificate but you can claim back what you spent from day 1. (In our experience with Aetna)
