Thanks. You guys are brilliant. More sense has been talked in the past few minutes on this forum than in the past three weeks of speaking to FCO, Embassy, lawyers, my HR department. Thank goodness for EPW. It's not super urgent, I will try to have a look through your posts this afternoon. *weeps in gratitude*

Thanks SarahLou123. Maybe my colleague was ripped off by a duff agent! Do you happen to know - when the agents say they will get something attested, will they usually do the whole rigmarole? Notary public, FCO, UAE Embassy and so on? I am wondering if I have missed something that explains the difference in price quotes, ie, they'll go to the embassy for you but you have to do all the FCO/lawyer stuff yourself. Index do the lot in a few weeks ( Usually 7-10 working days) They have a corporate account which processes them quicker as the FCO is always 6-8 weeks behind if you do it yourself

Later today, I can dig out place in London who will do and then courier out to Dubai for you. You can call or email abd organise it all and all your mum would have to do it send the certificate to them. I think it cost me £297 for two but would be a tad more per cert for you as I didn't have couriered to Dubai. Out just now, but will send later or if really desperate look at my previous postings and I have given details before several times to people.

Hi Everyone Has anyone had their UK degree certificate attested through a Dubai-based agency? I need to get mine done for a new job. I have been quoted 1,200dhs by an agency here, but a colleague was surprised by that and said the cost is more like 10,000dhs. Does anyone have any idea which is correct? Obviously, for 1,200dhs, I can bear the cost, but for 10,000dhs, it would actually be cheaper to fly back to the UK to do it myself. I think it's possible that the agency has misunderstood what I mean and I don't want to go through the hassle of having my certificate couriered here (it's with my parents currently and they can't do it for me as my mum is not in the best of health) only to find out I need to fly home after all because it's cheaper to do it in the UK. Hope this makes sense. If anyone can shed any light on this I would be hugely grateful. Thanks DG
