I am after some advise from those who have used this method. I know some don't agree but I know a lot of others have done this and it worked.

Where do I start?
Is it 2/4/6/8 minuets or 5/10/15

TIA

Hi Mincepie, I am currently doing CIO with my 7 mnth old son. I took advice from a midwife, basically as soon as he starts crying I'm waiting 20mins before I go into the room (for both day naps and night sleep). Been doing it for 7 nights now, I was told it takes between 3 and 4 nights but unfortunately my little devil has other ideas! That being said things have got A LOT better. Our progress so far: the first night he cried the full 20mins three times so I had to go in, the second night he did it once, third night once, fourth night didn't wake up, fifth night went in once, sixth night twice and last night he didn't wake up at all! So a little hit and miss but def getting better, before I started this I was hopping in and out of his room up to 6 times a night. Day naps are really good, in cot with eyes open and he normally squeaks between 5 and 15mins then goes to sleep. The key to this is consistency, when they are this age their motives for crying can be more calculated! Hope this helps xx edited by gingerbreadlady on 16/01/2014
