I've used Dinodrops.com and was really pleased with the service.
You order online & they deliver the next day across the UAE & have a wide selection of cards you can personalise.
About time there was something like this as you're right the cards available in the stores here are terrible.
At the school fare they were also offering bulk packs of personalised cards and invitations!
Hoorah!
I use Moonpig for international birthdays and Typo for local, Typo is an Aussie (or maybe Asian??) stationary brand - there's a store at box park - know its painful to get to but I just get bulk when I go as their prices are great and their cards are really gorgeous. Otherwise I am sure I saw husband cards in Waitrose the other day?
I refuse to go into Hallmark stores here bc of their criminal mark-ups, especially when you can clearly see the correct price in pounds/dollars on the back of the card...
I went to buy a birthday card for my husband recently to be told in Hallmark that they do not do 'husband' specific ones as there is no demand for them.
There is another online personalised card shop - doodleclick.com which I have used. Quality was not brilliant but I do like to send cards with photos on of the recipient sometimes.
What's the point in "personalise the cards online".? You might as well just email or facebook a card rather than send it in the post then. It's so impersonal with a computer generated card.
Borders have some nice cards, so do M&S but ah so pricey here. I do recall that there might be some handmade ones sold at the ARTE market. It's so much nicer with a handmade card with plenty of space to write your own message. I cannot stand the cards with already printed blah-blah messages.
I really do love a M&S card but they are soooooo expensive!!! I'm ashamed to say how much my husbands Christmas card was this year. To counterbalance though I tend to grab cards in C4 for acquaintances here and buy all my cards for friends and family back home in Cardland - which are great for personalised cards of different sizes.
I tend to write them all up, address them and leave them with the postage at my Mums and MiL to post for me.
Personally don't like FunkyPigeon as I like to have my own fair hand inscribed ?
Loads of quirky and funny cards at 'Typo' at Me'aisem City Centre Mall. But I totally feel your pain about how pathetic the card selection here in this country is... Why?! How can so many big Hallmark shops have such rubbish cards? The ones in the Tesco petrol station (back home) even had a bigger/better selection, haha!
I know exactly what you mean.
The ones for men are the worst. Tacky cards with fishing or golf pictures that can be bought back home in the local corner shop for 25p cost 20dhs here. Madness!
It's so much cheaper to buy cards for people back in the UK than for friends over here. I used Funky Pigeon to send my Christmas cards and it worked out about £1.00 each.

Hi Jeano
There is a new site called www.dinodrops.com its similar to the Moonpig concept where you can personalise the cards online and they deliver anywhere in UAE.
It's great because you don't need a PO Box so they can deliver to houses / villa's etc.
Perfect for my relatives back home also who struggled before to send us birthday or christmas cards
I have a bag full of lovely cards which I stock up on when I'm home as the selection here has always been dreadful, however I don't have one that suits for my daughters birthday tomorrow.
Anyone come across really beautiful cards/card shops here, not Gulf Greetings type stuff?
I miss the camel gift shop in the Pink Plaza where they did have some nice unique quirky ones
Thanks.

I would have a look in Paperchase as they sometimes have some quirky ones. (They are in Debenhams or Borders in MOE)
But yes - card selection here is very poor. I find Spinneys supermarket sometimes have better cards than Gulf Greetings too
