How to report unwanted spam sms?
I'm receiving spam sms messages on a regular basis from marina medical centre in Dubai. The sms's come from a different international number each time, and there is no option to opt out of receiving the messages. I'm Unsubscribed from all promotional messages via Etisalat, have never been to this place, and have called them numerous times to ask them to remove my number from their database but to no avail.
I've just been on the TRA website as I thought you could complain/report spammers on there but the best information I could find told me to complain to Etisalat: the two solutions they offered me are 1) they will block the specific number the spam sms's comes from (which is pointless as its a different number each time) or 2) I can sms 'uall' to 7726 to block all international numbers from contacting me (what?! What an absurd solution!).
Any ideas? The guy I just spoke to gave me the telephone equivalent of a shrug and blank stare when I said that neither of those solutions was good enough...
