Desperate for work or volunteer work

I moved to Dubai from UK to join my husband leaving a good job managing an education contract. I have a Bachelors degree in Economics, a CIPD L5 qual and an adult teaching certificate (not the same as PGCE). I have applied for numerous jobs and had no response - I no longer an even sure what to apply for but i do know I want a job! I have started studying the CACHE Teaching Assistant L3 as see there are a number of TA jobs - but will have no experience as TA. My job title for past 15 years was Regional Operations Manager
Please can anyone advise me where to look for jobs , I had heard there were vacancies for supply teachers but can not find where. Any advice will be great - I know lots of people in same position but I am feeling despondent and wondering if I should return to UK before i get depressed or go mad with boredom
Alternatively does anyone know where I can get voluntary work
