I'm sure between us all we've lived in a number of places in which English is widely spoken, but not the first language of many... And so the UAE's variety of terms and phrases can be found a little interesting or amusing. Can you think of any of your favourites? Off the top of my head...
‘What is your good name?’ Instead of simply saying ‘what is your name?’
‘Ma-am sir’
‘Beverages/grapes/hops’ as opposed to ‘drinks/wine/beer’
