Best ENT (ear) surgeoun in UAE?
Hey everyone.
I moved to Ras Al Khaimah in August 2018. I am originally from the United Kingdom.
A few years ago I started getting priblems with my ear, (pain, leaking, hearing loss etc.) The doctor told me I had a perforated ear drum and that it would heal itself. A year later I was still having issues and was finally referred to an ENT specialist (in the UK). I was told I would have to have sergery to seal the perferation using a small skin graft. I had this is 2015. After sugery I was told I will likelt need another as the infection had travelled through the perforation and eaten away at my hearing bones that they would have to replace with prosthetics. I have this sugery in early 2016 Stapendectomy—the replacement of a middle ear bone with a prosthesis (Tympanoplasty).
After my follow up appointments i was told that the perforated eardrum had returned. However I was informed that this is safe as long as it does not get infected.
Baring in mind if my ear gets infected and is not treated immidiately the infection can travel past the hearing bones to the brain!!!
I am not here in the UAE and having been here 8 months i have had 2 ear infection and only surgery will resolve this issue. I would love to go back to my wonderful surgeon back in the UK but unfortunately that is not possible.
I have to therefore consider having my ear surgery here in the UAE.
I am really worried as it is a very risky surgery to carry out and any complications can have really bad side effects.
Can anybody please recommend me an amazing trust wortht ENT surgeon here in the UAE.
