The initial reopening was scheduled for September 13 but was postponed
Sharjah private schools will start both direct in-person classes and hybrid learning from Sunday, September 27, confirmed Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) and the Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Team in the emirate.
After six months since all schools in the UAE closed due to the outbreak, classes are scheduled to resume while following Covid-19 health and safety protocols.
Previously, SPEA announced that schools would reopen on August 31 along with other schools across the UAE. This date was pushed back to September 13 as education authorities announced that private schools in Sharjah will spend the first two weeks of the new school year with complete online learning. The current expected date is September 27.
The postponements were made as a response to the UAE's status during the Covid-19 pandemic.
It's worth noting that not all Sharjah students will be allowed back to school this Sunday. The schools will vary in their reopening process, with some following a phased or gradual return.
