Hi guys, please help im from South africa and starting work in Dubai next year of all falls into place. I have a 8 year old and my work is going to demand long hours. Can a nanny be expected to take your child to school, fetch at school, what extra mural activities would you suggest? Can you trust a nanny with those responsibilities. In South africa we are so use to crime around every corner and really not to trust people so im wondering how do you go about being a single mom in Dubai? Any advise will be appreciated.

Hi dear, AS per my experiance, good nunny can be really helpful and would take lots of pressure from mother, however nunnies also burned over. My advice to get a proper contract with nanny to sequire yourself. Most of nunnies here also housemaids. Community around you also will be very important - sometimes trusted ppl next door can help in urgent sitiation. Try to buid your circule as soon as possible, make friends for you and your kid. Mums at school usually very friendly. If I will be you, first I will find an area where to live in Dubai, the best option close to school (school bus also an option but If you will get afterschool activities outside school, your kid might would be tired quickly. Remember sometimes we have a bad traffic here in Dubai around school areas. I also have 8 y o boy and was single mum for some time, pls pm me any time If you have more questions.
