Hi all
Which good Thai restaurants have you tried here in Doha? Doesn't have to be pricey. Really fancy Thai food and esp. Green Papaya Salad! Saw the 2 recs above mentioned on various websites - has anyone been?
Thanks in advance

@Maple - try the Phad see eaw noodles (#19) although it doesn't say they offer it with beef or seafood as well. My kids are diehard phad thai fans but once they had this dish have decided it was their new favourite (we ordered with beef).

I tried the Thai place and it is good. The red curry was really good and although the Pad thai was not spicy enough for me, I will go back again. Thanks for the recommendation.

Thanks for the recommendation re the Thai Place in Mega Bucks' car park. Tried it last night - excellent but the servings were quite small. Will simply have to order a few more dishes next time. Good service with a smile and lovely food ;).

Thanks for the info on the new place as I love Thai food and will try it out this weekend. Love Thai Snack too by the way except for the green curry.

NewbieDoha - Thanks for the great recommendation. Tried the little Thai place in the MegaMart carpark, and you're right, the food is fab! Ordered a few things, went & did my supermarket shopping, and picked the food up when I was done. Perfect. The Phad Thai & larb kai were SO good - probably the best I've had in Doha. Will definitely be usin git quite a lot!

There is a little Thai restaurant kind of across from jarir book store, sorry if it has already been mentioned but I don't know the name if it. It is a little "hole in the wall" but a friend was taken there by someone who lives here and is Thai so we think it's fine. Out front there is a sign that says "massage" one way and "restaurant" the other direction I like the noodle house but i don't think their green curry is any good and certainly not like any green curry I've ever had, I don't even think they put coconut milk in it! And if you ask for not too spicy, it is still ridiculously hot.

Noodle House is my fav restaurant K3 - love it! Have to be careful though, as there is one very close to me on The Pearl! I did notice the tiny Thai place at Megamart, so will try that too one of these days...

Last week we got a takeaway from the new small Thai place in the Megamart parking. It is AMAZING! Do try it ladies. We got minced chicken salad, red curry chicken, pad Thai and beef with basil. All of them had lovely flavors and weren't greasy. The only downside is that they have a limited menu ( no papaya salad). They have an open kitchen and cook the food in front of you.

oh my, how could I have forgotten my second preferred - The Noodle House! The locations I visit the most City Centre mall (downstairs right from main door) and Pearl. I love their Wasabi prawns. Their main courses quality is not as fixed as the Thai Snack I have to admit.

I think Thai Snack and Mango Tree are both very good (although I have had both good and bad experiences at Mango Tree but at the moment the good is weighing out the bad). Personally I think that Thai Chi is overpriced bad thai food - I'm not quite sure how you manage to muck up Pad Thai but they do! Gluggy, horrible mess!

it's basically between Salwa and C Ring road near Ramada. Go to maps.google.com and type in "Thai Snack Doha"

I'm far from an expert, but I've tried and loved: Thai Snack Thai-Chi (in Villagio) Mango Tree (on The Pearl) Those are listed in order of price, low to hi. All terribly yummy!
