Hi Folks, looking for some advice please. My boyfriend and I are considering a move to Abu Dhabi. He has been offered a permanent job and I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how I would go about seeking employment or even further education? Does anyone know the procedures on partners seeking visas for residency, if sponsorship is required to work and even if I can apply for a drivers licence for example? Any advice on these matters would be appreciated.

Thanks louisedvs, I thought other people must to it! I take it their partners either don't work or drive!! Lots to consider before we move! Thanks again for your comments, all very helpful.

thank you for your response busybee2, much appreciated. I am not advocating it and it is entirely up to you ( I will incur the wrath of OP's on here too) But people do cohabit here, yes it is illegal however people do do it, infact i know more cohabits than married people and i have been here eons. Up to you entirely of course edited by louisedvs on 23/01/2013
