Hi, My Husband & I got married just last June and I was 4.5 months pregnant already.
I am planning to give birth on Private hospital here in Dubai. Is anyone of you have been is this same situation, would we really be facing court for our baby's doc? Please. someone reply.. I am really worried now. thank you!

I am also confused if the court charges really apply. I had a friend who gave birth with the same situation and she even was able tog get a passport for the baby. My cousin in law took the safety way of going out of Dubai to give birth and came back after a year.

Actually, the official rule is, that if the marriage certificate is less than 6 months old at the day of the birth, the father will be subjected to dna test. If proven to be the father, the birth certificate is granted, no prosecution.

I think Gorobattie's answer is incorrect. A friend of mine was in the same situation (5 months pregnant when she married in Dubai) and gave birth in Dubai, too. No one asked questions. Ok, my answer is wrong, please do a mini search on this forum not anything else, and read the stories of Mums with same situation and got prosecuted here..... I rest my case I apologise, I didn't mean to come off rude. You may be right, but there are an equal number of cases where such a thing was not a problem. It may depend on the discretion of one's doctor, or how much a person wishes to disclose. Per-mature deliveries do happen, so a blanket rule cannot apply to everyone, unless there's a witch hunt? I don't think it works that way. In any case, I'm sure the original poster would appreciate reassurances and positive stories. Pregnancy is stressful as it is! Apology accepted ? Back to the post: there is nothing about doctor descretion at all, once the parents wants to apply for birth certificate, the employees handling the request count the months from the baby’s birth date backward to Parents marriage date, if it’s less than 6 months, they refer Parents to public prosecutors, leaving the baby with no birth certificate until the law says its word about the Parents penalty, which could be 3 months jail time.... Pregnancy is difficult, with this situation, I suggest the mum to be give birth back home, then come back here once the baby have passport then visa process... The employees do read all info about Parents, compare religions and count how many months from marriage till the birth ..... I hope really OP figured out what’s her next step. HTH

Please leave now while you can, and give birth to your baby back home, and come back with passport and birth certificate with you. If you decide to give birth here, you won't be able to obtain the birth certificate and both of you will face trial with possible of paying fine or jail time or both ... the birth certificate office will count the months from your marriage until the birth and it'll be less than 6 months... during the whole process you won't be able to obtain the baby's birth certificate Now you got your answers
