Hi I have a maid who's from an agency. She hasn't been paid for about 5 months now and has been made to work round the clock. On Most days she starts about 6am and is done by 12am. She's frustrated and exhausted. I would really like to help her out so she could be paid for what she deserves, however I wouldn't want to get stuck in any legalities. Any suggestions on how I could help her out?

If you really would like to help her; contact MOL and report the company, first tell her that's what you are going to do, if she's telling porkies she will probably confess at that point. There are many companies not treating staff the way the should over here and with holding salaries.

I'm afraid I wouldn't know what to do but from experience, I would always be careful about some of the stories. I've been conned several times by women claiming to be in certain positions; one lady lost her husband in the Tsunami and needed help. Later it was revealed that it was a lie. I know that some maids are treated appallingly but just be careful. If she is in trouble, then I sincerely hope that she finds the help she so clearly deserves. Just don't take everything as the gospel truth. Sorry this wasn't the help you wanted but I dont want anyone to go through what I have been through!
