Hope he's not flying into Qld, NSW, Victoria or Tasmania!
I spent three hours going to all of the stores listed below (and many more like camping shops, Clark Rubber etc etc) last Saturday. I was trying to go to Brisbane to help a friend clean her flooded house and gumboots are the only sensible footwear for the foul sludge we all had to traipse through. I ended up with a crappy pair of 'dress' wellies (lordy me, can't believe there is such a thing) with horses printed all over them...which I had to pay an extortionate amount of money for and elbow my way to as every woman in the store was grabbing at the few pairs left. There was not even a pair of kids boots left in BigW or Kmart.
Whew. My point...the whole east coast is in a dire flood situation and gumboots are almost rarer than hen's teeth.

I'd hate to rain on your parade....hehe.....but it's the middle of summer in Oz and I'd doubt very much the department stores will stock "gumboots"....try a major hardware chain like Bunnings or Mitre 10.

Thanks for this!! I am unfamiliar with the stores there. was hoping to find the product online and send it to him. I'll check it out
btw= I adore your username!
You will be able to get them at Target, Big W, KMart or any shoes shop. These are all department stores and will have reasonable price kids shoes for sure.
Doesn't matter which state you are heading to, it seems to raining everywhere there at the moment...
Might want to take some flippers!

My husband is going to AU tonight and I asked him to find rainboots/ wellies for out 2 year old daughter. What stores can you recommend? I noticed there is a Target there but they dont have an online store, only mini catalogue. Is there another store with reasonably priced girly rainboots? thank you
